Unlock Your Message: The Power of Repetition in Marketing
Many of us feel uncomfortable saying the same thing repeatedly on social media, fearing our audience will think, "didn't she already say that?" or "she's posting the same stuff."
But here's the actual truth: your ideal clients need repetition. Your business needs repetition. And your message becomes magnetic through repetition.
People don't take action the first time — maybe not even the tenth time. They might be busy, distracted, or overwhelmed by the daily white noise. When you say something once, most people don't even notice. Say it twice and they might recognise it. Ten times and they'll remember it. Fifty times and they'll start to trust it. Over a hundred times and they're possibly going to act on it.
Repetition creates recognition, and that recognition builds solid trust — because they keep seeing it. Your message needs to become so normal for you that it becomes unforgettable for other people.
Think of the brands, coaches, or creators you admire. They repeat the same core messages in dozens of ways — stories, examples, posts, videos, webinars, different frameworks, reminders, teachings — and you never think, "they've said that already." Instead, you trust them more because the message is consistent. Your audience feels exactly the same about you.
So if you've been trying to be fresh all the time, if you're scared of repeating yourself, or if you think you need to reinvent the wheel every single week — I'm giving you permission to stop. Your message becomes more powerful when it becomes consistent, and consistency comes through, surprise surprise, repetition.
Here's your quick fix today.
Pick a core message. Grab that notebook and jot it down. What's one message you want to be known for in your business? For example:
"You can build a business that fits your lifestyle."
"You deserve to be confident showing up online."
"We only use eco-friendly products."
"We go from farm to fork."
Whatever it is that you do — write it down.
Now write three different ways you can share that same core message. Simple variations are key: a reminder, a tip, a quote, a reel, or a question. This becomes your repeatable theme to bring into your marketing all week.
And don't be sorry about it — because it's your core message. Your future clients and prospects need to hear it. They need to know the foundation of what your business is about, and through this they will come to know, like, and trust you.
Enjoy it. Go back to basics: why are you doing what you're doing — and share that in a very clear message.
