The comparison trap is a familiar one. We scroll through social media and see others' successes, perfect outfits, and brilliant emails, and we start to feel like we’re falling behind. But the truth is, you are the most important person in your life. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is the person you were yesterday.
To escape the trap, you need to shift your focus back to yourself. Here’s a quick exercise you can do with a pen and paper—the act of writing is important!
Write down three things you're genuinely good at. These don't have to be huge achievements; they can be as simple as being a good listener or making a great cup of tea.
Next, list three small wins you've had recently. Did you wake up on time? Did you finish a difficult task? A win is a win, no matter the size.
Finally, write down three things you are grateful for. This could be anything from a sunny day to a supportive friend.
Once you’re done, smile and pat yourself on the back. You've just taken back your power. This simple act of focusing on your own strengths, wins, and blessings will help you start your day with power, not panic.
