Hi everybody, hope everybody is well. I want to talk about the concept of 'eating the frog.' Many of us know about it, but some don't. So, what do I mean? When we're working in our business or lives, there may be something that trips us up, something we find really difficult to do, like accounts, tech, or social media. When we find things tough – and it's okay to find things challenging because that means we're learning – we sometimes push them to the back or don't deal with them. While it's good to do the things we like, there are some things we need to do. 'Eating the frog' means doing these hard tasks. Why is it called that? Because a frog doesn't taste very nice (not that I've tried it!). The 'frog' represents the challenging things. If you're stuck, you need to find a way to get over the hump instead of procrastinating. One technique I use is to look at your list (I'm a list maker). Get a few quick things out of the way – maybe pick three things and do one or two. Then, decide to 'eat the frog.' Some say do the frog first, but I find it hard; I like to get something done under my belt so I can smile and praise myself. Then, look at your frog and break it down. What can you do to get it done? That might mean reaching out to someone, doing research, or spending dedicated time on it. Take one tiny step at a time, like eating a frog one tiny bite at a time. We are here to support you. If you have a frog you need to eat, we can help or point you in the right direction. Think about the technique of tiny steps: write it down, figure out what it is, and then find the steps to get it eaten. If you have no idea where to turn, reach out for a virtual cup of tea with us.
